Siamo stati lontani da casa per un po’, senza mai dimenticare le origini. Eravamo a Roma quando abbiamo deciso di rivoluzionare le nostre vite con un progetto ambizioso: recuperare dei Trulli Resolana del 1800 in una contrada di Castellana Grotte, affiancati da Marta, nostra cara amica e architetto, e suo marito Luca. Abbiamo unito i nostri entusiasmi per realizzare il nostro sogno: un'idea a un tempo magica e concreta, quella di tornare in Puglia, la terra dei nostri padri, e ridare forma a un passato ancora presente, un presente che sarebbe diventato poi il nostro progetto del cuore, Uliveus. Così, abbiamo deciso di trasferirci, per poterci mettere tutto l’impegno necessario.
Marta would have been our architect and she would have thought to the right spaces to welcome our friends and entertain our children. Our project became more and more complicated, showing unexpected opportunities and motivating progresses. For us the trulli are a familiar presence, part of the imaginary of Puglia, and like road signs, they tell us that we are home. We chose ours after a careful selection; the unusual composition of their constructions and the surrounding uncontaminated countryside had an impact on our decisions.
Both, together, we write a new chapter. Maybe it was what we really wanted and dreamt of: moving back home, with strong and exciting ideas and the love for our roots. We started from here, a trullo in Castellana Grotte, that led to Uliveus (U Live US), a project that wants to tell a story, an idea, a new challenge, in Puglia. It talks about returning to the land of origin, after many years living elsewhere, of the rediscovery of a region that keeps growing, changing, but also trying to remain faithful to its tradition, preserving its wonderful identity.
